I'm Sophy. I'm the face behind the lens at Sophy Cee Photography.
I am a dreamer who believes anything is possible; a creative obsessed with capturing families in a way that’s real, emotional and full of life; and a lover of people and their stories.
My journey in photography began when my parents gifted me a camera for my 18th birthday. Since then, I have been shooting beautiful moments and capturing the incredible stories of amazing families like yours.
I love to document love, capture personalities and tell visual stories that can be enjoyed for generations. With each family photo session that I do, I strive to craft
My Story
My own story begins 12 years ago when I decided that I no longer wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I simply wasn't happy. While I was teaching at the time, I was taking courses at night in Digital Photographic Imaging- basically a lot of Photoshop! Having no idea what I was going to do with my career after quitting, I decided to apply for a job as a photo retoucher. To my surprise, they hired me as a photographer instead. This is where my journey began.
Today I am running my family photography business along with a very empowering boudoir division Embody Boudoir by Sophy Cee. I’m also a full-time graphic designer teacher to adults, an independent instructional designer and consultant, and a mom to two active boys! As you can see, I like to keep busy and have variety in my life!
Photography has always been my happy place. When I’m in the moment, all of the noise of the world goes away, and I think of nothing else than capturing those intimate moments. I love being able to witness the love, joy, chaos, energy, and fun that a family exudes at their photo session. I love experiencing the new, unconditional love that parents have for their newborn babies. I love watching the amazement a mother has for the miracle she has created in her belly.
It is my greatest honor to be the one to capture all of this for you. Let's find the specialness in everyday moments and create memories together. I’m so glad you’re here.
A few fun facts...
My last name is not Cee. The "Cee" stands for my middle name- "C" for Christine.
I have a major weakness for dark chocolate-covered almonds- I can eat the whole bag to myself.
I taught English as a second language in South Korea for a year.
My kids rarely let me take pictures of them. That's why I always hire a photographer!
I love shoes! I have over 100 pairs and some still have their tags on!
Things I'm proud of...
It took me 5 years to complete my Master's degree in Educational Technology.
I worked full time and had two kids along the way. It was hard, really hard. But I did it!
Being a published photographer: I took part in The Front Steps Project during Covid and had 4 pictures published in the book!
Other pictures have been published in various magazines.
